Six

What's My Number? is the fourth episode of the fifth series of Numberblocks. It is the 94th episode overall.

Synopsis

Welcome to the game show where you don't count, you see the amount!

Plot

The Numberblobs cheer as Six introduces them to What's My Number, the game show where you don't count, you see the amount! Six reveals the players are One, Two, and Three, who work as a team.

For Round 1, a knock is heard on the door in the center of the stage. It appears that five of the blocks within the door are shaded, so Two correctly subitizes and guesses that it's Five. This gives the team two stars on the board above them. To win, they'll need ten.

Another knock is heard, and there are six shaded blocks on the door. Three correctly sees Five and One blocks shaded, and deduces that the number is Six. This earns the team two more stars.

For the final knock, nine blocks within the door are shaded. However, when One buzzes, she begins to count the blocks, which is against the rules, and she is stopped. Unable to figure it out, she is given the clue of seeing how many blocks (out of the ten in the door) are not filled in. From this, she correctly figures out that Nine is the number. This brings the total stars earned to six.

Round 1 ends, and round 2 begins. Six shows a greyed out footage of a home on the screen, and the contestants have to figure out who's home it is. After inspecting the home for 8 seconds, One, Two, and Three point out pictures, chairs, and crates that were in the house. Specifically, there were eight of each, divided into different groups, so the house is Eight's house. As Eight puts it, this is Octo-Correct. The team earns four more stars, getting the ten total they needed.

Next, One, Two, and Three have to play the speed round. To win prizes, they need to figure out the correct amount of each type of object that passes by them on a conveyor belt. Of the objects, there are:

  • One cuddly toy (which is actually One's teddy bear that Six presumably took from her)
  • Two apples
  • Three rubber ducks
  • Four frogs
  • Five paper cups
  • Six cows
  • Seven bricks
  • Eight bowler hats
  • Nine balloons
  • Ten stars on the star board

One, Two, and Three respectively pick the teddy, a balloon, and the star prize, as they have won the game. Six repeats, "Don't count, see the amount!"

Trivia

  • According to Numberblocks Twitter, this episode will teach "recognising numbers without counting" or subitising.
  • For the 4th time, Nine is the biggest Numberblock, however, Ten was mentioned again, but not on-screen.
  • Six breaks the fourth wall when she looks at the viewers and says, 'By the way, have you noticed that they've all started rhyming?'.
    • This is one of the many Numberblocks episodes to break the fourth wall. However, she could be talking to the Numberblobs.
  • This episode is similar to Name That Colour from Colourblocks.
  • The star frame has a similar model to Ten in her 2×5 arrangement.
  • Aside from cheering, Nine has no dialogue in this episode.
  • The music was used from Fifteen's Minute of Fame.
  • One's teddy bear also appeared in Heist and One Thousand and One.
    • Although, chronologically, this is its first appearance.

Error

  • Debatable error: In one scene, One's eye and mouth turn grey, though that may be because of how the lighting focuses on her.
