Synopsis[]

A small red block falls from the sky. The block then grows a body. As she wonders who she is, a number 1 jumps on her. She sings and counts 1 of everything. She claims that she is number one!

Plot[]

A little block falls out of the sky, meets her numberling and discovers one wonderful world, singing and counting to one.

Trivia[]

  • Song: One Wonderful World
  • This is the only episode with one Numberblock.
  • In the credits of this episode and all other episodes up to "Ten Green Bottles", we see the following things:
    • The year says "2016" although this episode was aired on January 23rd 2017 - implying Numberblocks began developing the show in 2016.
      • With that in mind, the beta Numberblocks would have been conceptualized much earlier.
  • The concept of this episode and "Another One" originated from an old comic, featuring the beta Numberblocks.
  • Marcel McCalla, Teresa Gallagher and David Holt's names appear on the credits, despite none of them voicing in this episode.
  • This episode has the most reenactments done. Episodes such as Once Upon A Time retold the story, and ones like Land of the Giants are more like a "what-if?", only this time, with different numbers (such as Tens instead of Ones). This also happens in Twoland, with Twos instead of Ones.

References in later episodes[]

Numberblocks[]

  • Once Upon A Time - This episode retold One, alongside Another One and Two.
  • Land of the Giants - This episode, alongside the intro and certain episodes of Series 1, was recreated with x10 instead of 1.
  • One Hundred - As part of One Hundred's song, one part of the lyrics said "Remember when there was only one?".
  • Your Turn - Like in Once Upon a Time, the Numberblobs redone this episode as part of their show.
  • Twoland - One remembers this episode's events, and the episode was also reenacted with a different number again, this time with Two.
  • 100 Ways to Leave the Planet - At the end, the new One in Numberland repeated the beginning of the episode as well as the very end of the song.

She walks away sadly and bumps into a mirror. She sees another One in the mirror. Just as One figures she will be alone forever; the mirror creates another One. They both play tennis together... with only one racket. Then, when a One slips on the racket...

…they become Numberblock Two! Two wonders where everyone went, but realizes he is made up of 2 blocks. He separates into...

Both of the Ones want to do it again.

Then Two splits again...

The Ones realize their plan hasn't gotten them anywhere. One of the Ones has an idea. They both run to the mirror, but one of them trips over. The other One duplicates herself, and those two Ones add together.

One and Two finally meet. Two makes two tennis rackets, and together they play tennis normally.

Characters[]

Lyrics[]

1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2

1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2

Everything is better with 2

The two of us together, just me and you

Imagine all the crazy things we can do with 2, with 2

1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2

With 2 you can dance a two-step

With 1 you can do the hop

1, 1

With 2 you can learn a new step

And be spun right round like a spinning top

With 2, you can ride a tandem

But you haven't seen anything yet

(Bell rings)

With 2, you can give piggy back

With 2, you can sing a duet

La, la, la!

Everything is better with 2

The two of us together, just me and you

Imagine all the crazy things together with 2, with 2

1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2

With 1, you can kick a football

With 2, you can do a 1-2

1 - 2

It's more fun to kick a football

When there's someone there to kick it back to you

With 1, the swing's so boring

Cause you need a friend to give you a push

With 1, you can get a bird in the hand

Oh, look, there's Two in the bush!

(Laughter)

1 shoe just won't do

You'll end up all lopsided

1, 2, 2 shoes

You can use to dance like I did

1 wing tied with string

No point even trying

1, 2, 2 wings

And zing! You'll end up flying!

With 2, you can get a leg up

With 2, you can offer a hand

With 2, you'll never be fed up

'Cause there's always someone to understand

With 2, you won't be lonely

And you're never going to have to pretend

With 2, you can play hide and seek

With 2, you can find a best friend

Oh! (2 laughs)

'Cause everything is better with 2

The two of us together, just me and you

Imagine all the crazy things we can do with 2, with 2

With you and me and me and you (with you)

With 2, we'll see what fun can be (with you)

You and me and me and you (with you)

And all the things we can do with 2

-Best friend? -Best friend!
