— Three

Three is the fourth episode of the first series of Numberblocks.

Synopsis

Three arrives with a bang to sing and dance to a song about her favourite number.

Story

On an average day, One and Two lack any ideas on what to do. However, after some thinking, Two gets an idea to demonstrate something new. Asking One to tap him, he soon falls down suddenly, scaring One; it isn't until he reveals he simply just rearranged his blocks. He soon asks One to do the same; being only one block, One can only hop. She soon jumps so high.

After a short time of Three introducing herself, she soon realises One and Two are missing, and stumbles upon a Magic Mirror. She uses it to clone herself, and instructs the other Three to split into One and Two.

Three finds One and Two, as her "audience" and is impressed to see them, she soon sings a song about Threes. Nearing the end, Two accidentally causes her to fall down and supposedly "break", before it turns out she's completely okay.

Trivia

  • Song: Number Three Is Here
  • The instrumental version of the song can be heard in Three's games in the game Numberblocks Make & Play.
    • The following objects in the game are from this episode:
      • Three's vocals.
      • The circus scene.
  • This is the first episode for many things:
    • This episode is the first appearance of the minus sign (−).
      • Not only that, this is the first episode to have a subtraction sequence, if excluding Another One.
    • This is the first episode that has a scene that takes place at night, if excluding the part before the sun rises in Another One.
  • Many stories were referenced in this episode, including "Three Little Pigs", "Three Musketeers" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears".
    • This episode also indirectly describes the Rule of Three, a very common writing device which suggests grouping concepts in groups of three.
  • This is the first time a Numberblock has shapeshifted, technically, two Numberblocks: Two and Three.
  • Death is experimented in this episode, the Numberblocks having concerns if they’ve “broken” another one.
  • This episode aired exactly 7 years after Top and Why.

Errors

Subtitle Errors

  • In the lyric video on YouTube, in the line "I'm here to entertain you with this funky melody", the word "funky" is misspelled as "funnky". This is the first subtitle error in the entire show.
