The Team Factor is the thirteenth episode of the fifth series of Numberblocks. It is the 103rd episode overall.
Synopsis[]
Welcome to the Team Tag Arena for another exciting match! Who will be left standing?
Plot[]
One welcomes the audience to the team tag arena for an exciting game of tag. After the rules are explained, the game starts, and the big numbers enter first so they have time to run and hide.
Halfway through the entrance sequence, Eleven tags Twenty-Two. Twenty, being chased by Ten, uses Twenty-One as a shield. Ten then tags Twenty-One by mistake and is frozen for 10 seconds. Unfortunately for both of them, Five caught up, and she turns Ten and Twenty into Fives. All Five's team needs to find is Fifteen, but she's still hidden somewhere...
Back at the entrance, Six and Four are getting ready to start chasing when the team tag champions Two and Three enter. The two of them can tag lots of other Numberblocks and also have no enemies to stay away from! Two and Three attempt to tag Fourteen and Twenty-One, but Seven beats them to it. Eighteen speeds across the arena and gets tagged by Nine, who is then tagged by Three.
Then, Sixteen is seen running away from Eight in what seems to be a game of Pac-Man. Unfortunately for Eight, Four gets to Sixteen first, and he's forced to make a run for it. Eight passes by Two, who then notices the team of Fours and tags them. Twenty-Four evades Twelve, Six, Eight, Two and Three. Four and Eight show up, and Two tags both of them. Twelve then corners Twenty-Four after a long chase and tags her. Six then shows up and tags Twelve. Six's team then gets surprise-tagged by Twos and Threes.
Suddenly, a buzzer sounds. There's only one rectangle left, that being Fifteen! Three notices the stairs below here and is about to tag Fifteen... only for Five to snag Fifteen away from under her nose.
The game ends and the biggest team ends up being that of the Twos, who have won this wonderful game of tag!
Characters[]
- All Numberblocks Two through Twenty-Four appear as contestants.
- One appears as the host.
Game[]
When a larger Numberblock is tagged by one of their divisors, the Numberblock splits into copies of the said divisors and joins their team. If by chance a Numberblock attempts to tag a number that they are not a factor of, they get a time-out.
"Can be tagged by" means that the numbers are proper divisors of the target Numberblock. Numbers in parentheses are Numberblocks that actually tagged the target in the episode.
"Can tag" refers to the multiples of the Numberblocks in question, as all multiples will split into copies of the tagger and join their team.
Note: Ten attempted to tag Twenty, but Twenty threw Twenty-One in front of himself, causing Ten to mistakenly tag the latter.
Results
The following table shows the amount of copies a prime Numberblock (including themself) has and the amount of blocks they total up to after the Arena match.

Trivia[]
- Numberblocks Twitter says that this episode teaches number factors (divisors).
- Thirteen, Seventeen, Nineteen and Twenty-Three are the only four Numberblocks which could not tag or be tagged.
- This is because they are prime, and their smallest multiples (26, 34, 38 and 46 respectively) exceed 24.
- Twenty-Six wasn't figured out until the next episode in series order.
- This is because they are prime, and their smallest multiples (26, 34, 38 and 46 respectively) exceed 24.
- The title of this episode is based on the show: The X Factor.
- This may be because they are powers of two (8=23, 16=24).
- Five and Eleven are the only participating Numberblocks whose player card was never shown.
- The number of ways each Numberblock can split until reaching prime numbers is equal to the number of factor (divisor) trees of that Numberblock (A144757 in the OEIS).
- All Numberblocks in this episode have at most six ways of splitting, except Twenty-Four, which has at least 20.
- Because of that, there are 2,764,800 possible ways all Numberblocks 2-24 can split.
- One didn't play because she could tag everyone, which is why she hosts instead.
- When Eighteen says, "Run! Run! As fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm a..." it was a reference to The Gingerbread Man. This is the second episode that mentions the Gingerbread Man, the first being Man.
- There is a reference of the video game Pac-Man; on the timestamp 2:32, when Sixteen is chased by Eight.
- One is the announcer because every number can make a team of ones. So if she participated, she would be the only winner in this game.
- The Team Tag arena is similar to a laser tag arena.
- The gameplay of Team Tag is similar to Count Pacula, a canceled game by Bally Midway proposed in December 1982.
- Unlike Count Pacula, whose proposal had Count Pacula being chased by the Pac-Man family holding wooden stakes, it shows small Numberblocks chasing big Numberblocks (so that a small Numberblock could divide a big Numberblock into teams of a small Numberblock).
- Also unlike Count Pacula, whose proposal had Count Pacula biting the good Pacs and temporarily turning them gray, small Numberblocks "bite" big Numberblocks and turn them into teams of the "biters".
- If Zero were to be a competitor, she can’t tag anyone because numbers cannot be divided by zero, nor be tagged by anyone. This counts no matter the amount of players.
- Eight saying "Yikes!" when he saw 5 Fours was reused from Terrible Twosday.
Errors[]
- Eight's player card has his old design instead of his new design, as seen on the picture to the right.
- Fourteen's player card did not show Two as a divisor.
- When Four tags Sixteen to split her, the resulting Four Fours don't wear their hats anymore. Likewise 22 doesn’t turn into technicolour 11s.
- On YouTube, it is listed as episode 14 instead of episode 13, and reads "Team Tag".
- For a very brief period of time, once Thirteen first enters the arena, the 3 on his Numberling mysteriously loses its white outline.
- In one scene, when the two Twos try to tag Twenty-Four only to miss, the Numberling of one of them gradually turns into a 1 Numberling.
