The Mixing Factory is the second episode of the second series of Colourblocks. It is the 32nd episode overall.
Synopsis[]
Welcome to Purple's mixing factory, where he mixes two colours to create a new colour. In this musical episode, the Colourblocks learn that mixing red and yellow makes orange, whilst adding black and white helps to make darker and lighter colours. When the Printing Crew arrive, we learn how they work together to mix their colours and create new ones.

Now everybody stand and cheer,
Our old friends Black and White are here!
Take any colour, and add white
You'll turn that colour pale, that's light!
Black has a different set of tricks
Darkening colours when it's mixed!
Take all the colours, bold and bright
Black makes them dark, White turns them light
Mix up black and white together
Get a shade like stormy weather
The colour of a rainy day
Black and white mix to make grey!

Trivia[]
- Purple's costume is a reference to Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
- Coincidentally, the Wonka movie released not long before this episode came out.
- This makes Colourblocks the first ever Learningblocks show to have a normal episode release after a special.
- Purple is the center character of this episode.
- Violet and Indigo are absent in this episode.
- Yellow is the only primary colour in RYB that wasn't made in this episode.
- However, in RGB, Yellow can be made by mixing Red and Green.
- This episode marks the return of the Printing Crew, since It's A Colourful World.
- Dark Grey and Light Grey are the only greyscale Colourblocks that are absent.
- This is the 11th musical episode of the series. The others being most of Colourblocks' debut episodes, It's a Colourful World, and It's a Colourful Christmas.
- This episode aired on the day after CBeebies turned 22.
- This is the first Learningblocks episode to air in 2024.
Errors[]
- When Cyan and Magenta mix they make a perfect blue (well at least the blue shown in Colourblocks) despite it being shown in Return Of The Printing Crew the CMYK blue is more indigo than blue.
- Debatable error: In the last part of the song, during the line "You've watched our colour mixing...", Orange and Black have their hands down like the male Colourblocks, whereas all the other female Colourblocks have their hands up. However, this could have been intentional.
- In Orange's scene where she gives the hats to Red and Yellow, they are coloured orange, but in the next scene, Red's hat turns red, whereas Yellow's hat turns yellow.
