(Go and Stop are walking through the forest)
Stop: Ah, so peaceful. So quiet!
Arty (offscreen): Oh, not again!
Toad (offscreen): It's okay, Arty. You'll get there.
Arty (offscreen): I'll never get it right!
Stop: I wonder what that's all about?
Toad: It's alright Arty.
Arty: But you only wanted splats on some of your stones.
Toad: Well, I can always wash off the ones that I don't need.
Arty: No, I can do it! Let me have another go!
(Toad erases all of the splats on the stones)
Arty: Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat!
(All of the stones have a splat on them.)
Arty: How's that?
Arty: Oh, I did it again, didn't I? I'm sorry Toad. I just love splatting so much!
Toad: I know. Why don't we have another look at the plan.
Arty: Oh yes, it's a lovely plan! It really is.
(Go and Stop enter the scene.)
Stop: Hello!
Go: Hello!
Toad: Hello Go, Hello Stop.
Go: Hello Toad!
Go: Ooh, hello! Who are you and what can you do?
Arty: Hi, I'm Arty, the artist, and I can splat!
Splat: My name is Splat! A splat's a hop, that leaves a mark each time you drop!
Toad: Hi Splat! Maybe you can help. We're trying to paint some splats. But, we just don't want them... everywhere. See?
Stop: Ahh, I get it! Arty needs to make splats on some of the stones but not all of them!
Arty (while hopping): But, art is all about splatting! Isn't it? Splatting is what I do!
Go: It's not all you can do. Look what you're doing right now!
Arty: *gasps* You're right! I'm Arty and I can hop!
Hop: My name is Hop, hop, hop, hooray! I'm here to help you hop today! A hop is a short leap forward.
Splat: A splat is the same, *splats* but leaving a mark!
Stop: I wonder? Toad, I think Hop and Splat can help Arty make this pattern.
Toad: Really? That is good news.
Arty: So how do we make this pattern?
Stop: Let's see. Hop moves you forward without splatting. What if we tried putting a hop before a splat!
Arty: I like your thinking!
Go: Let's give it a go!
Go & Stop: Ready?
Hop & Splat: Mhm.
(Go, Hop, Splat, and Stop hold hands.)
Go: Go!
Hop: Hop!
(Arty hops.)
Splat: Splat!
(Arty splats.)
Stop: Stop!
Hop: That went well! Nice hop!
Splat: And that's a lovely splat!
Arty: I did it! I really did-
Arty: Oh! But it's still not right!
Toad: It's almost there, Arty. You made a really great start!
Arty: Hm... I'm sure i can do this all in one go. Let's start over.
Stop: Hmm. What exactly is this pattern? how does it go?
Go: Oh, I see it!
(Go rolls to Arty's starting point)
Go: It goes space, splat, space, splat, space, and it can keep going! splat, space, splat..
Stop: Stop! I think we get the idea! *giggles*
(Go rolls to Toad's front door)
Go: The pattern is a space, and then a splat, over and over!
(The camera zooms out to see Hop and Splat.)
Stop: Hop gives us a space, and splat gives us a... well, a splat! there are five stones on the patio, so we need five moves!
(Go runs to Arty's starting point)
Go: Hop, slat, hop, splat, hop!
(Go then rolls to Hop and Splat.)
Go: We need three Hops and two Splats please!
Hop and Splat: No problem!
(Hop splits into three, and Hop splits into two.)
Go: Now, if you take turns lining up...
(The Hops and Splats line up)
Go: Ready to try this, one more time?
(Arty hops to his starting point.)
Arty: I'm ready to make some art!
(Go, the Hops, the Splats, and Stop hold hands.)
Go: Go!
Hop: Hop!
(Arty hops.)
Splat: Splat!
(Arty splats.)
Hop: Hop!
(Arty hops.)
Splat: Splat!
(Arty splats.)
Hop: Hop!
(Arty hops.)
Stop: Stop!
(Go, the Hops, the Splats, all cheer.)
Toad: You've done it! I'm the proud owner of an original arty artwork!
(The Hops and the Splats, all merge back into one.)
Arty: I really did it!
(Go, the Hops, the Splats, Stop, and Toad all crowd around Arty)
Arty: Splats and hops is so much fun!
(Arty hops toward the sunset)
Arty: I'm going to fill the world with hoppy, splatty, art!
(Camera pans to Go, the Hops, the Splats, Stop, and Toad. Arty continues to hop happily, ending the episode.)
