Synopsis[]

Meet two new super-duper rectangles as they figure themselves out! Forty-Eight is 8 lots of Six and 6 lots of Eight, and teleporter Forty-Two is 7 lots of Six and 6 lots of Seven.

Summary[]

Two Twenty-Fours are racing together on a six ray line, and say that they could race all day and all night too. They then added themselves together to make Forty-Eight who says that she'll keep racing all weekend, and then races off on the six ray line.

Forty-Eight has the ability to light up her eyebrows to split into the amounts of sixes and eights, Forty-Eight is made out of eight chunky sixes, which she splits into them, and six chunky eights, which she splits into them too. She then says that she's up for 48 hours of fun, fun, fun! Forty-Eight then has the idea to race all the way to Puzzle Square, but then has the idea that the race will be more fun if she has someone to race against.

And all of a sudden, Forty-Eight then sees something in the sky, it is revealed to be a rainbow portal with seven sixes raining out of it, which Forty-Eight says that this is all new to her. The seven sixes all add up to make Forty-Two, who then accidentally falls into the six ray line, where Forty-Eight is racing from. Forty-Eight warns Forty-Two, he told himself to "Don't panic!" and then quickly flies away from the rays to avoid from crashing into Forty-Eight.

Forty-Eight introduces herself to Forty-Two and shows him what she can do and later lets Forty-Two do the same. Forty-Two apologizes about what happened and says that his teleporting belt is messing with him today, Forty-Eight asks what 'teleporting' is much to her confusion. Forty-Two explains that teleporting is how he goes from place to place, due to that when the buckle of his belt glows and then sends him away to somewhere else, when he arrives he can be seven sixes and sometimes also six sevens, and that he's always in sixes and sevens.

Forty-Eight says that it is 'extra super duper' to meet him and says that teleporting is fun, Forty-Two says that teleporting is mostly fun and sometimes that doesn't know where he'll go next, but unfortunately his belt causes him to teleport away in front of Forty-Eight.

"Toodle-loo from Forty-Two!"

Forty-Eight doesn't know where Forty-Two is teleporting too, but then later finds out that he'll be on some mountains due to the noises of the portal being heard over at the mountains, so Forty-Eight then races across the six ray line towards the mountains. Forty-Two has now split to his six sevens, who unfortunately are stuck inside of snow. Forty-Eight then splits into her six chunky eights so they can get them out of the snow. Forty-Two thanks Forty-Eight for the excellent rescue, and the Forty-Eight celebrates that rescue by challenging him to race to Puzzle Square.

Whilst Forty-Eight zooms across the six ray line, Forty-Two then says that there's only one way to get to Puzzle Square, and then teleports when she continues racing. Forty-Eight then has the idea about that the eight ray line is much more faster than the six ray line (6 < 8), so she hops onto eight rays. Then she realizes that she is not winning due to Forty-Two's teleportation abilities, which he returned to splitting into his seven sixes, Forty-Eight congrats Forty-Two for winning and says that they have the rest of the weekend for a rematch. But before they do, Forty-Eight has one question to ask Forty-Two. Forty-Two thought that the question is about how did he came to Puzzle Square so fast, but no, it was about the rubber duck he got.

Forty-Two said that he teleported to his bath whilst Forty-Eight kept on racing. Forty-Eight and Forty-Two then did a rematch of their race by using the six and eight ray lines.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first episode in Series 7 where a new Numberblock is debuted, two in this instance.
  • This is also the third episode where Three doesn't appear, but her rubber duck does. The previous two are two episodes stacked together from series 6.
    • However, it's Forty-Two holding the rubber duck, according to one line.
      • This episode also reveals that Forty-Two takes baths according to the same line, though it’s not shown on screen.
  • This episode may indicate that Forty-Two and Forty-Eight are best friends.
  • This is one of the few episodes in which Seven isn't lucky. The first is Octoblock to the Rescue! where he and One fell down a trap door.
  • Forty-Two says that sometimes he doesn't know where he will go next after he teleports. This possibly indicates he can't control his teleportation.
  • On the CBeebies schedule, in the synopsis, the "Two" in "Forty-Two" and the "Eight" in "Forty-Eight" have changed to one not capitalized on August 21, 2024. Since this, the synopsis will now, "Get to know two new super-duper rectangles, Forty-eight and Forty-two."
  • When Forty-Eight said “You’re on, let’s go!”, she sounded American.
    • Similarly, when Forty-Two said "Now how about that rematch?" it also sounded American.
  • This is currently the latest appearance of the Rays Track.

Errors[]

  • In airings outside of the UK, when Forty-Eight says "Although, it would be more fun if there was someone to race against! Gasp What's that?", her lips are the same colour as her eyes rather than magenta.

  • When Forty-Two rotates during his introduction, his ten-borders "glitch out", similar to Ten's in Grid Unlocked when she does the same.
  • Despite having space for the tentacles, in the scene where six Eights help the Sevens stuck in the snow, all the Eights have four limbs instead of eight, until the next scene.
  • When Forty-Two arrives at Puzzle Square, his vertical Sixes all have bigger eyes. Additionally, the middle Six only has 6 spots instead of 21.
