[We open at Numberblock Castle, and it's raining. But then the rain stops, and a rainbow shines through the window.]

Seven: [gasp] A rainbow!

Nine: Ooh. It must be nice being so many different colours. I'm just grey, grey, grey.

Seven: Cheer up, Nine! You'll never know when your luck will- Ooh!

Nine: Oooh...

One: Ooh! Ooooh!

Four: I heard a noise. Ooh! A wizard's den.

Two, Three, Five, Six, and Eight: [surprised noises]

Seven: This must be your lucky day, Nine. Draw a number in the air, that many colours you will share!

Three: Draw a number? You can draw me, if you like!

One: I think it means, draw a number like these! Our numberlings! And a number one is one straight line going down. One colour!

[All the Numberblocks turn red]

Three: We're all red! One colour isn't very exciting. Let's try three! Make a curve, just like me, then one more, and you've got three!

[All the Numberblocks turn barbecue coloured]

Nine: What colourful stripes!

Two: [giggles] That's funny!

Three: Three colours each! So who's next?

Nine: I'm the largest here, that means the most colours! A loop, and then a downward line! That's the way to make a nine!

[All the Numberblocks turn rainbow, as seen on the first leak for the season]

Nine: Nine colours! Beat that! [laughs]

[Zero appears out of a wizard hat]

Zero: *gasp* That looks like fun! Can I have a go? Round in a loop like an empty hoop, makes zero! Zero colours!

[All the Numberblocks turn invisible]

Zero: Oh, whoops.

Three: Where's everyone gone?

Everyone except Zero: [complaining]

Eight: Octoblock, breathe! One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, [breathes] breathe... Ahh, that's better.

Zero: I'm sorry, the wand turned us all zero colours, and itself too!

One: The wand! Where is it?

Zero: I don't know! Someone bumped into me and...I dropped it...

Everyone except Zero: [gasps]

Seven: Maybe there's a counter spell in here! Uh... Aha! You'll stay invisible until you draw your number with this quill.

Zero: My number's easy to remember! Round in a loop like an empty hoop makes zero. [turns visible] Nothing to see here! *giggles*

One: My turn! One line down, like a stick makes a one, *turns visible* that was quick! Over to you, Two!

Two: I can't remember how my number looks. I'll be invisible forever!

Nine: [gasp] We could copy our numbers from the bookcase! Quick!

[All the numberblocks accidentally bump into things as they run to the bookcase]

Zero: Our numbers! Let's trace them together! Round in a loop like an empty hoop makes zero!

One: One line down like a stick makes a one, that was quick!

Two: One curve down is what you do, then straight across, [turns visible] to make a two!

Three: Make a curve just like me, then one more [turns visible] and you've got three!

Four: Down and right, off once more, cross the line, *turns visible* that's a four! It's working! It's working!

Zero, One, and Two: Woohoo!

Five: Down and around then a line up high! *turns visible* High five!

Six: Start with a curve, round with a swish, *turns visible* that's the way to make a six.

Seven: A line in the sky and down to the ground, *turns visible* that's how lucky seven's found.

Eight: An S to start, looking great. Loop back up *turns visible* and there's your eight!

Nine: A loop and then a downward line, *turns visible* that's the way to make a nine! And what fine figures we all make.

Everyone: Hooray!
