We need to get to the island, who’s with me?

— R

Map is the 22nd episode of the first series of Alphablocks.

Synopsis[]

R doesn't feel like she's really a pirate, until a treasure map appears and she and her friends head to a faraway island in search of pirate booty.

Story[]

Y and W think R is a pirate, but R doesn't feel like she's a pirate. A, F, S, and T bump into P and A falls down in between M and P.

m-a-p, MAP!

Just then, a map appears around A, F, M, P, S, and T. As R sees it, she refuses to go on a treasure hunt with them. A tells her she should try. Together, they walk to a faraway island.

Requirements[]

The following competency is as follows: RA__ (this means the last two underscores are represented by two different letters)

  • RAMP - A tries to jump the ramp, but it was no use.
  • RAMS - A gets upset by a herd of rams.
  • RAPS - R, A, P, and S dance and rap.
  • RATS - R, A, T, and S are upset by rats.
  • RAFT (star word) - The Alphablocks sail a raft. When they reach the island, the treasure is not found, so instead, R sings what a pirate would do. When she sings "x marks the spot", X digs for that treasure and then it is found.

Unusual words[]

  • RAPT - to be amazed by someone because they are good-looking
  • RASP - a noise you make when you rub something with a rough object, like a rock

Trivia[]

  • Song: A Pirate Wears A Black Eye Patch
    • Red recycles this song as its background music.
  • This is the only episode where R is seen without her hat and patch.
  • X makes a speaking cameo at the end.
  • M only says his sound in this episode.
  • Ignoring their sound, some letters have one proper solo line: F, P, and S.
    • This can be a notable reference to the abbreviation, FPS (meaning frames per second or frame rate).
  • B, C, D, E, G, H, I, J, K, L, N, O, Q, U, V, and Z are absent in this episode.
  • No words were made with W or Y.
  • A is the only vowel that appears in this episode. Y doesn't count because he stays as a consonant.

Errors[]

  • For unknown reasons, this episode is not on BBC iPlayer.
