Synopsis[]

Purple stages a version of Little Red Riding Hood.

Plot[]

Purple introduces the viewers to a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, starring Red herself. Red plans to go to her grandma's house for her grandma's party, and true to the story, must go through the story. After a rocky start of the lack of a forest, Red follows Green through the forest, but gets distracted by a blue butterfly and loses track of her. As she wanders lost, she encounters the Big Blue Wolf, and believing him to be the Big Bad Wolf, retreats with her balloon. However, this balloon is popped by a bird, as she falls back to the ground.

Continuing through the forest, Red meets up with Yellow, who is now Goldilocks. Purple criticises the addition of Goldilocks to the story, but nonetheless, Red proceeds to feed Yellow's duckies her strawberries due to Yellow having eaten their porridge. The story resumes, with Red joined with Yellow, as they soon end up lost again. The two stumble into each other, and...

Red and Yellow make Orange!

Orange, as the Gingerbread Block, is now added to the cast, as Purple provides further criticism. Regardless, Orange is accepted as she helps Red and Yellow through the forest. Red ends up leaving her cake behind in a hurry to catch up with Orange.

At grandma's house, Red, Orange, and Yellow meet up with Blue, as Red asks if Blue ate grandma. Blue clarifies to Red that he is not the Big Bad Wolf, and did not eat grandma. The four soon come to a realisation that none of the Colourblocks were set to be grandma, with Purple taking the place of her as a result.

With Red having visited her grandma Purple, she soon comes to a troubling realisation that she has emptied her entire basket. Orange tells Red that everything is okay, as the party is still going; as Red leaves the house, which is now coloured, she notices that the other Colourblocks have brought their own party supplies. Red celebrates as Purple ends the story, as everyone shares a laugh.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first episode that Red appears in but doesn't say the word "exciting" or "excited".
  • This is the fifth episode to re-enact a traditional tale. The others are Box, Little Red N and Book from Alphablocks, and Three Little Pigs from Numberblocks.
    • This is also the second time where a block plays the role of the Big Bad Wolf (with a slightly altered name to fit the character playing the role), with the first being Three Little Pigs, where Four plays as The Big Bad Square.
    • This is also the second episode to re-enact Little Red Riding Hood and modify the story, with the first being Book.
  • This episode aired exactly four years after The Way of the Rectangle, exactly six years after Numberblocks premiered, and exactly a decade after Crash.
  • Green is the only character to not play a main role.
  • This is the first Colourblocks or Numberblocks episode to not have a learning competency.
  • Orange and Blue play as characters with slightly altered names from the originals, with The Gingerbread Block having the word block instead of man, and The Big Blue Wolf having the word blue instead of bad. Meanwhile, Red and Yellow's roles have the same names as the original characters.
  • Two male characters roleplay as female characters, Yellow and Purple.
    • Yellow roleplays as Goldilocks.
    • Purple roleplays as Grandma.
  • This is the third Learningblocks episode where a bird pops a balloon. The first is Up (from Alphablocks) and the second is Red Meets Blue (from Colourblocks).
  • Including specials, this is the 235th episode of the Learning Blocks saga.
  • This is the third Learningblocks episode that features/references 'The Gingerbread Man'. The first was in the Alphablocks episode Man, and the second was in The Team Factor.
  • The accidental colour mixing references accidental word magic from Alphablocks and accidental addition/subtraction from Numberblocks.
  • This episode and the actual "Little Red Riding Hood" have a few differences:
    • Goldilocks is added.
    • The Gingerbread Man is added.
    • The wolf isn't a bad wolf.
  • Ironically, Yellow cries in this episode. To make it more worse he’s the first and only one to cry in the entire Colourblocks series.
