Chameleon is the eighth episode of the first series of Colourblocks. It is the eighth episode overall.
Synopsis[]
The Colourblocks meet a new animal - but what colour is it?
Plot[]
Red is seen colouring a bunch of objects red, when she suddenly spots an animal and doesn't know what it is. She colours it red, and it comes to life. She names the animal "Redora", but it immediately disappears. Hiding within Red's apples whilst also being red, Red is unable to spot her, and the animal walks off once Red leaves to look for it.
Nearby, Blue sets up a blue deck chair and an umbrella to relax by the river when the animal turns blue and catches his attention. He points out he doesn't remember colouring her, but he names her Bluesy, nonetheless. Whilst Blue colours something for her to sit on, she disappears again, hiding by blending in with the blue deck chair. Blue runs off to go find her, and she sneaks away again. Blue then encounters Red, who tells him she's looking for "Redora" at the same time he's looking for "Bluesy." The two of them decide to look together.
They both find the animal, currently red, but then "Redora" turns blue and becomes "Bluesy." The animal keeps changing colours until she becomes both red and blue, then turns yellow just as Yellow walks by. Yellow recognises her, having named her "Yellowny", and thanks Red and Blue for finding "his new friend", much to their confusion. The animal then disappears again. Whilst looking for her, Red, Yellow, and Blue are startled by Green, not having seen her because she blended in with green plants nearby. The three of them explain that they're looking for their new animal friend who keeps changing colours. Green then spots the animal, now green, hiding by blending in with a bush. Green explains to them that changing colours is what the animal does, sometimes to blend in, sometimes to stand out, and sometimes to show how she feels. Red and Blue realise that neither "Redora" or "Bluesy" are good names for an animal that keeps changing colours, and while Yellow proposes "Redora-Bluesy-Yellowny-Green", Green simply states the animal prefers to be called Chameleon. The Colourblocks then end the episode watching the chameleon change into each of their colours.
