Blue-Zoo Productions Ltd. is the computer animation studio that produces the Lear ning blo cks series.

Background[]

It was founded in 2000 by Adam Shaw, Oli Hyatt, and Tom Box while they were studying animation together at Bournemouth University. On top of Learningblocks, Blue-Zoo also produces several other series. This includes three 2D animated ones and the non-British Disney series Goldie & Bear. They have received many awards for their work in children's animation, as well as being the Winner of Best Place to Work in TV in 2019 and 2020.

Blue-Zoo Productions operates from a studio in Fitzrovia, London. where they have a team of over 100 artists. They also opened a new studio in March of 2019, working alongside the main studio, that specializes in their 2D animated shows. Their website states that they had planned to open a third studio in 2020, but this may have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are four Learningblocks shows produced by the studio, being Alphablocks (2010), Numberblocks (2017), Colourblocks (2022), and Wonderblocks (2025).
- Besides Learningblocks, this studio is well known for producing Miffy's Adventures Big and Small (2015), Digby Dragon (2016), The Adventures of Paddington (2019) and It's Pony (2020).
  - Other long-form productions include Those Scurvy Rascals (2005), Kerwhizz (2008), Stitch Up Showdown (2009), Olive the Ostrich (2011), Tree Fu Tom (2012), Q Pootle 5 (2013), Go Jetters (2015), Mac and Izzy (2016), Millie and Lou (2021), Pip and Posy (2021), Superworm (2021), Big Tree City (2022) and Mojo Swoptops (2024).
  - The studio was also responsible for the 'Blue Cow' character and animated segments from The Story Makers (2002), the 'Sami's World' animated segements from Tikkabilla (2002), and the 'Sandworms' segements from Doodle Do (2006).
